LADY MT. LIONS SOFTBALL TEAM GET WINS OVER TYGARTS VALLEY

CAMP KIDD – The Tucker County Softball team hosted Tygarts Valley for a doubleheader on Monday March 21st.  The Lady Mt. Lions swept both games over the Lady Bulldogs 17-0 and 15-0.

In the first game Tucker County recorded 9 hits in the contest and they were led by Kristen Hicks with an inside the part homerun in the 17-0 victory.  Addie Hicks and Rachel Felton each added a triple and Ava Shaffer, Autumn Russell and Cheyenne Gooden each hit doubles in the win.  Ava Shaffer collected the win on the mound and Katlyn Simmons pitched 1 inning in relief.

In the second game of the night Tucker County exploded for 14 hits to end the contest in 2 innings over the Lady Bulldogs by the final score of 15-0.  Ava Shaffer led the Lady Mt. Lions with a HR and a triple.  Paige Shaffer, Kristen Hicks, Katlyn Simmons and Cheyenne Gooden each hit a double in the game and Rachel Felton added a triple for Tucker County in the win.  Katie Hicks, Addie Hicks, Brianna Gooden and Raven Matthews added 1 hit each also for Tucker County.  Ava Shaffer collected the win on the mound for the Lady Mt. Lions.

 

MASON – The Lady Mt. Lions traveled to Wahama on Friday March 25th.  Tucker County was not able to get the bats going against the Lady Falcons as Wahama won the game 17-0.  Wahama held the Lady Mt. Lions to no hits in the game and Tucker County surrendered 14 hits in the contest.  Ava Shaffer took the loss for the Lady Mt. Lions.

 

Tucker County(2-2) will return to action on Thursday March 31st at home against Ravenswood and then the Lady Mt. Lions travel to Moorefield on Friday April 1st at 6pm.  Tucker County will finish out the week at home on Saturday April 2nd with a doubleheader at home against Pocahontas County with the first game starting at 1pm.  For more information go to TuckerCountySports.com.
