Lady Mt. Lions Volleyball Team picks up their first win

HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Volleyball team hosted Union for a single match on Wednesday October 16th. This match was best out of 5 set match.

The Lady Mt. Lions came out firing in the first set as they built a 7-3 lead early on. The Lady Tigers fought back to tie the set at 11-11. Tucker County responded to make the score 20-14 later I the set. Union would then tie the set at 22-22, but the Lady Mt. Lions closed out the set to take the 25-22 set win.

In the second set both teams battled hard as their were 6 ties before Tucker County gained a 14-9 lead. Union then rallied to tie the score at 15-15. The battle continued late into the match as the teams were tied again at 21-21. The visiting Lady Tigers then finished the set with 4 straight points to take the set win 25-21.

Set number three would also start close as both teams exchanged leads through 4 different ties before Tucker County pulled out to a 14-7 lead. The Lady Mt. Lions then built a 19-10 lead before Union answered back to make the score 20-14 Tucker County. The home standing Lady Mt. Lions then finished them off 5-0 run to end the set by the final count of 25-15.

Tucker County came out on fire in the fourth set as they built an early 4-0 lead. Union answered with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 4-4 early on. Then the Lady Mt. Lions pulled away for a 20-12 lead. The Lady Tigers tried to comeback, but Tucker County held them off to win the set 25-19. The 3-1 set finish would give the Tucker County Volleyball team the win over Union. This is the first win of the season for the Lady Mt. Lions, so Congratulations!
Tucker County(1-12) will return to action on Thursday October 24th at Pendleton County for a single match starting at 6pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
