Lady Mt. Lions Win 2 Games, Then Fall at Lincoln

BAKER – The Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team traveled to East Hardy on Tuesday January 21st. The Lady Mt. Lions got off to a nice start and then cruised to a victory by the score of 75-20.
The first quarter end with Tucker County ahead by the score of 29-5. Tucker County then held the Lady Cougars to 2 points in the second quarter to make the score at the half 50-7.
The Lady Mt. Lions outscored East Hardy in the third quarter 16-4 to push the Tucker County lead to 66-11 after three quarters. The reserve players played the entire fourth quarter for Tucker County as the Lady Mt. Lions took home the victory 75-20.
London Hood led Tucker County with a career high 29 points and Terra Kuhn added 14 points for the Lady Mt. Lions. Gracie Rapp chipped in with 11 points and Kadie Colebank had 8 points in the Tucker County win. Colebank pulled down a team high 9 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Rapp collected 8 rebounds and Kuhn also had 7 rebounds for Tucker County. Hood had 5 steals for the Lady Mt. Lions in the road win. The Tucker County JV team won by the score of 22-18.
HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team hosted Bishop-Walsh for a varsity only contest on Friday January 24th. The Lady Mt. Lions built a lead in the first and continued to lead in route to a 64-41 win.
The Lady Mt. Lions trailed 4-0 early then the home team scored 12 straight points to make the score 12-4 after one quarter. The second quarter belonged to Tucker County as they outpaced Bishop-Walsh 18-11 to push the Lady Mt. Lions lead to 30-15 at the halftime intermission.
The third quarter was controlled by Tucker County as they outscored Bishop-Walsh 18-9 to make the score 48-24 after three. The fourth quarter was played even as Bishop-Walsh edged Tucker County 17-16 in the final period to make the final score 64-41 Tucker County.
Terra Kuhn led the Lady Mt. Lions with 28 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals. Gracie Rapp added 13 points, 6 rebounds and London Hood collected 12 points, 6 assists for Tucker County in the win. The Lady Mt. Lions also got 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks from Kadie Colebank.
SHINNSTON – The Lady Mt. Lions traveled to Lincoln on Saturday January 25th. Tucker County trailed at the half by just 5 points at the half, but Lincoln exploded in the third to pull away for a 76-40 win.
The Lady Cougars got off to a quick start in the first quarter as they led after one 17-6. The second quarter did not start well for the Lady Mt. Lions as they trailed by as many as 20 points midway through the second. Tucker County then rallied for a 18-0 run and outscored the home team 21-15 in the second to make the halftime score 32-27 Lincoln.
The third quarter was controlled by Lincoln as they connected on 4 three point baskets in the period to outpace Tucker County 27-6 and push their lead to 59-33 after three. The fourth quarter also belonged to the Lady Cougars as they took the quarter 17-7 to make the final score 76-40 Lincoln.
Terra Kuhn led Tucker County with 19 points, 7 rebounds and Kadie Colebank added 8 points, 5 rebounds. London Hood chipped in with 7 points, 4 rebounds for the Lady Mt. Lions in the loss. The Tucker County JV team fell in a close game 37-34.
