LIONS BASEBALL FALLS TO PENDLETON, PHILIP BARBOUR, PRESTON

PARSONS – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted Pendleton County on Monday April 25th.  The visiting Wildcats pulled away for the 7-2 win over the Mt. Lions.  Tucker County had the game slip away early and the Mt. Lions couldn’t recover.  Pendleton County would score on a groundout and a single in the 1st inning.  The Wildcats would then add to the score as they picked up the road win over the Mt. Lions 7-2.  Mason Kisamore started things out on the mound for Tucker County as he lasted 4 innings.  Kisamore allowed 4 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 5.  Ethan Rosenau came in to throw 3 innings of relief for the Mt. Lions as he surrendered 3 hits and 3 runs while striking out 2.  Tucker County committed 4 defensive errors while giving up 7 hits on the day.  The Mt. Lions collected 5 hits in the contest with Kisamore leading the way with 3 hits in 3 plate appearances.  Blaike Adams and Justin Robeson added 1 hit for Tucker County as Robeson had 1 RBI in the game.  

 

PARSONS – The Mt. Lions hosted Philp Barbour on Thursday April 28th.  Tucker County fell behind early and the Mt. Lions could not mount a comeback as they fell to the Colts 14-3.  Errors would plague Tucker County early as the young Mt. Lions committed 4 errors in the contest giving way to 11 runs for Phillip Barbour in the 2nd inning.  Tucker County played well until the top on the 5th when Phillip Barbour tacked on 2 more runs.  The Mt. Lions got 3 runs back in the bottom of the 5th when Brayden Grey singled to score 1 run and Mason Kisamore would double to drive in 2 more runs.  Harper Russell started the game on the mound for Tucker County.  The hurler went 3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and striking out 5.  Justin Robeson entered the game to throw 3 innings and allowed 5 runs on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 5.  Mason Kisamore then entered the game late to face 2 batters, striking out both.  Kisamore and Grey each had 1 hit each to lead the Mt. Lions in the loss.  

 

PARSONS – Tucker County entertained Preston on Friday April 29th for 1 game.  The Knights got the road win over the Mt. Lions by the final score of 10-3.  Tucker County would out hit Preston 7 to 6, but the Mt. Lions fell in the contest.  Tucker County committed 7 defensive errors in the game while only allowing 4 earned runs.  Mason Kisamore started things off on the mound for the Mt. Lions.  Kisamore went 3 three innings, allowing 7 runs on 4 hits while striking out 7 and walking 1.  Ethan Rosenau entered the game in the 4th for Tucker County and went 3.2 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits while walking 5 and striking out 4.  Reese Poling would then come in for the Mt. Lions to face 1 batter in the 7th, getting the Preston batter to fly out to end the inning.  Tucker County would rack up 7 hits in the contest.  Justin Robeson, Blake Helmick, and Kisamore all collected multiple hits for Tucker each would collect 2 hits apiece.  Reece Poling also had a hit for the Mt. Lions in the loss. 

 

Tucker County will return to action on Thursday May 5th at Elkins.  The Mt. Lions will then travel to East Hardy on Friday May 6th for the last game of the regular season.  Both games will get started at 5:30pm.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
