PARSONS – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted Pendleton County on Tuesday April 16th. The Mt. Lions held the Wildcats scoreless through 4 innings, but Pendleton pulled away for a 7-2 road win.
The game went scoreless through the first 4 innings until the Wildcats scored 2 runs in the 5th inning to take a 2-0 lead after 5 innings. Pendleton County would then add 1 run in the 6th inning and 4 runs in the top of 7th inning. Tucker County would score 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, but Pendleton County got the win by the final score of 7-2.
Justin Robeson led Tucker County with 3 hits and Maddox Anderson added 2 hits(1 double) for the Mt. Lions in the loss. Ethan Rosenau, Reid Kisamore and Xander Lambert chipped in with 1 hit each for Tucker County. Justin Robeson started on the mound for the Mt. Lions as he went 3 innings. Maddox Anderson, Ethan Rosenau and Xander Lambert entered the game in relief.
OAKLAND, MD – The Mt. Lions Baseball team traveled to Southern on Wednesday April 17th. Tucker County struggled at plate as they fell to the Rams by the score of 11-1.
Southern got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st inning as they led after 1 inning 1-0. The Rams then added 1 run in the 2nd inning and 1 run in the 3rd inning to make the score 3-0 Southern after 3 innings. The homestanding Rams then exploded for 5 runs in the 5th inning to give Southern an 8-0 advantage after 4 innings. Tucker County got on the scoreboard in the top of the 5th inning as they scored 1 run to make the score 8-1 after the top of the 5th. Southern then added 1 run in the bottom of the 5th inning and then the Rams scored 2 runs in the 6th inning to give Southern the victory over the Mt. Lions by the score of 11-1.
Tucker County had 6 hits in the game as Maddox Anderson, Justin Robeson, Reid Kisamore, Xander Lambert, Blake Helmick and Bolyard Owen Bolyard had 1 hit each for the Mt. Lions. Nate Ricottilli got the start for Tucker County on the mound and went 3 innings. Anderson and Ethan Rosenau entered the game in relief.
MILL CREEK – Tucker County traveled to Tygarts Valley on Thursday April 18th. The Mt. Lions led in the game, but the Bulldogs pulled away for the 7-4 victory.
Tucker County would score first as they led 1-0 after 1 inning of play. Tygarts Valley took the lead in the 3rd inning as they scored 2 runs to make the score 2-1 Bulldogs after 3 innings. The Mt. Lions then answered back with 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning to give the visitors a 4-2 lead. The Bulldogs would respond with 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to regain the lead at 5-4 after 4 innings. Tygarts Valley got some insurance runs in the 5th inning as they scored 2 runs to push the Bulldogs lead to 7-4 after 5 innings. Neither team scored the rest of the contest as the game ended with the final score of 7-4 Tygarts Valley.
Maddox Anderson led Tucker County with 3 hits and Justin Robeson added 2 hits(1 double) for the Mt. Lions in the loss. Owen Bolyard had 1 double for Tucker County while Blaike Adams, Ethan Rosenau and Reid Kisamore chipped in with 1 hit each for the Mt. Lions. Robeson got the start for Tucker County on the mound and Rosenau entered the game in relief.
Tucker County will travel to Petersburg today Wednesday April 24th at 2:30pm. The Mt. Lions will then travel to Gilmer County on Monday April 29th for a 6pm start. For more information go to TuckerCountySports.com.
