WEST UNION – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country team traveled to Doddridge County to compete in the Region 2 Championship on Thursday October 19th.
In the Boys’ race the Tucker County Boys’ team finished in third place overall to qualify for the State Meet. Cameron Judy was the top finisher for the Mt. Lions with a 6th place finish and a time of 18:40.68. The remaining runners for the Mt. Lions are as follows: 12th-Alex Boyles(19:11.62), 18th-Lynk Suesli(19:39.06), 25th-Allan Boyles(20:34.63), 26th-Nate Ricottilli(20:44.70), 30th-Ryan Scott(21:46.79) and 36th-Ivan Lothes(24:42.25).
In the Girls’ race Katie Hicks was the top runner for the Tucker County as she finished in 3rd place and a time of 20:50.60. The Lady Mt. Lions runner Addie Moats finished in 9th place with a time of 22:23.97. Katie Hicks and Addi Moats qualified for the State Meet with these finishes. The remaining Lady Mt. Lions runners placed as follows: 15th-Addie Hicks(24:44.30), 17th-Brianna Gooden(25:23.41), 31st-Adrianna Tuttle(34:57.85) and 32nd-Lilly Boyles(35:48.53). The Lady Mt. Lions missed qualifying for the State Meet as a team by just 5 points.
The Tucker County Cross Country members that qualified will run at the State Meet on Saturday October 28th at Cabell Midland High School. The Class “A” Girls’ race will start at 9am and the Boys’ race will be at 9:45am. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
