SISTERSVILLE – Tucker County traveled to Tyler Consolidated for a pair of games on Friday January 12th and Saturday January 13th. On January 12th the Mt. Lions faced off against Tyler Consolidated. Tucker County had a great second quarter to build the lead and then the visiting Mt. Lions pulled away for a 76-44 win.
In the first quarter both teams battled back and forth as Tucker County had a 16-12 lead after one quarter. The Mt. Lions then built on their lead in the second as they outscored the homestanding Knights 16-4 in the second period to make the halftime score 32-16 Tucker County.
Tucker County then exploded in the third quarter with 31 points and Tyler Consolidated scored 15 points to put the Mt. Lions advantage at 63-31 after three quarters. The reserve players finished the fourth quarter as both teams scored 13 points each to make the final score 76-44 Tucker County.
Trevan Bonner led Tucker County with 32 points, 5 rebounds and Ethan Rosenau added 12 points. Ashton Lycliter chipped in with 8 points, 8 rebounds and Maddox Anderson dished out a team high 7 assists for the Mt. Lions in the win.
SISTERSVILLE – The Mt. Lions tipped off against Cameron at Tyler Consolidated in an afternoon game the next day Saturday January 13th. Tucker County’s defense held the Dragons to just 12 first half points and the Mt. Lions cruised to the win over Cameron 57-28.
The first quarter was controlled by Tucker County by the score of 17-5. The Mt. Lions then continued to dominate the Dragons in the second quarter as Tucker County outscored Cameron 11-7 to make the halftime score 28-12.
Tucker County came out strong in the third as they held Cameron to just 5 points in the third and the Mt. Lions scored 11 points to push the Tucker County lead to 39-17 after three quarters. In the final quarter the Mt. Lions outscored Cameron 18-11 to make the final score 57-28 Tucker County.
Ethan Rosenau led the Mt. Lions in scoring with 15 points and Trevan Bonner added 14 points for Tucker County. Garrett Wilfong chipped in with 10 points, 9 rebounds and Maddox Anderson dished out 8 assists.
