FRANKLIN – Tucker County took to the road last Friday October 17th to take on #8 Pendleton County. The home standing Wildcats came out on a roll and turned a 16-6 lead in the second quarter into a 50-6 dominating win.
Pendleton County received the opening kick after the Mt. Lions won the toss and deferred their option to the second half. The Wildcat offense went to work and put the ball into the end zone on a 1 yard touchdown run with 6:17 left in the first quarter. The PAT failed to make the score 6-0 Pendleton County. Tucker County then got the ball deep in their own territory. The Mt. Lions then committed a block in the back in the end zone which resulted in a safety and 2 points for Pendleton County to put the score to 8-0 Wildcats with 5:08 left in the first. The Mt. Lions would force Pendleton to punt on their next possession. Disaster then would strike again for Tucker County as the Wildcats stepped in front of a Daniel Kisamore pass and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown with 2:36 left in the first quarter. The 2 point conversion was good to extend the lead for the home team to 16-0.
Tucker County then put together a great drive at the beginning of the second quarter that would be capped off by a 5 yard touchdown pass from Kisamore to Logan Fridley on a 3rd and goal. The 2 point conversion try failed to make the score 16-6 Pendleton County with 10:30 left in the second quarter. Pendleton County would then answer after a great kick return to the Mt. Lions 34 the Wildcats scored on a 16 yard touchdown run with 7:13 left in the second. The PAT was no good and the score read 22-6 Wildcats. Pendleton County would then block a Tucker County punt and then score once again on a 26 yard touchdown pass with 5:07 left in the first half. The PAT was good to make the score 30-6 Pendleton. The rest of the first half showed neither team sustaining drives to make the halftime score 30-6 Pendleton County.
The Mt. Lions failed to get the loose ball on the opening kick of the second half and Pendleton County recovered. Then the Wildcats scored on a 53 yard touchdown pass play with 11:08 left in the third. The PAT failed to put the score to 36-6 Wildcats. The Tucker County offense could not sustain a drive on their next possession and Pendleton got the ball back. The Wildcats then would strike again on a 13 yard touchdown run with 6:39 left in the third quarter to make the score 42-6.
Tucker County continued to struggle to move the ball and Pendleton County scored once again to start the fourth quarter to put the score to 50-6 after a successful 2 point conversion. The rest of the fourth quarter showed both teams turning the ball over and the game ended with the final score of 50-6 Pendleton County.
Tucker County’s Daniel Kisamore ended the game 12 of 18 passing for 85 yards and Logan Fridley had 5 receptions for 75 yards receiving. The Mt. Lions were outgained in the contest 384 to 139 in total yards.
