HAMBLETON – Tucker County hosted East Hardy on Wednesday January 25th.
The Mt. Lions broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter and held off the Cougars to pick up the home win 69-65.
The first quarter showed both teams fighting hard as the score was tied at 16 after one quarter of play. Both teams continued to fight in the second quarter and the score remained tied at the half 29-29.
In the third quarter the theme continued as both teams scored 18 each to keep the score tied after three 47-47. The Mt. Lions led by as many as 9 points in the fourth quarter and Tucker County held off a late charge by the Cougars to pick up the win at home 69-65.
Kordell Fulton led Tucker County with 26 points and Ethan Crosten added 17 points, 6 assists. Jakob Cousin chipped in with 14 points, 17 rebounds and Wesley Snyder had 8 points for the Mt. Lions in the win. The Tucker County JV team pick up the win also 68-36.
Tucker County(8-6) will travel to Southern, MD on Saturday February 4th. The Mt. Lions will then host Moorefield on Monday February 6th for a make-up game. For more info or complete schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
