Tucker County’s Elizabeth Nichols jumps a hurdle in Buckhannon on March 31st
BUCKHANNON – The Tucker County Girls’ & Boys’ Track teams got the season started on Tuesday March 31st at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
Seven teams competed at the meet with Tucker County being the only Class “A” team participating. The Lady Mt. Lions squad started the season in fine fashion as they captured the 1st place in the event as the team scored a total of 118 points. The Boys’ team showed some promise as they scored 64 points as a team to finish 5th in the event.

PARKERSBURG – On Thursday April 2nd Tucker County traveled to Parkersburg to take part in the Parkersburg South Invitational. This event featured 5 “AAA” schools, 1 “AA” and 3 “A” schools for a total of nine teams. The Tucker County Boys’ team finished the meet with a 6th place finish netting a total score of 43 points. On the Girls’ side the Lady Mt. Lions brought home a 3rd place finish behind “AAA” Parkersburg and Wheeling Park. Here is a complete list of the results:
