MT. LIONS BASEBALL BEAT TRINITY, FALL TO PB, SOUTH HARRISON

PHILIPPI – The Tucker County Baseball team traveled to Philip-Barbour on Tuesday April 30th. The Colts got off to quick start and never looked back in route to a 11-0 win over Tucker County.

Philip-Barbour pitching controlled the game as they surrendered just 3 hits in the contest and shut out Tucker County. Cameron Wamsley got the start for the Mt. Lions on the mound and took the loss. Zach Colebank and Corrick Ambrose entered the game in relief action for Tucker County. Christian Purnell, Cole Rapp and Easton Snyder had 1 hit each for the Mt. Lions in the loss.

PARSONS – The Mt. Lions hosted Trinity on Wednesday May 1st. Tucker County came out with the bats alive and took home the win at home 13-1.

Zach Colebank led the Mt. Lions at the plate as he went 4 for 4 on the night. Easton Snyder and Shane Humphrey has multiple hits in the contest for Tucker County in the victory. The Mt. Lions collected 14 hits on offense to put the game out of reach for the Warriors and Tucker County won the contest 13-1.

PARSONS – Tucker County hosted South Harrison on Thursday May 2nd for Senior Night. The visiting Hawks got off to a quick start and the Mt. Lions could not complete the comeback and fell by the final score of 12-1.

The high-power offense of South Harrison could not be contained by the Mt. Lions as they scored 1 run in the 1st inning and 6 runs in the 5th inning to blow the game open. Zach Colebank, Christian Purnell, Gariet Pennington and Tyler Molone each managed 1 hit to lead Tucker County in the contest. Corrick Ambrose took the loss on the mound for the Mt. Lions. Cameron Wamsley and Derek Delaney entered the game in relief action for Tucker County in the game. The Hawks managed 10 hits in the contest to power past Tucker County by the final score of 12-1. Tucker County honored the following Seniors on the evening: Wyatt Hall, Zach Frymyer, Alec Cummings, Seth Cangley, Shane Humphrey, Corrick Ambrose, Cole Rapp, Easton Snyder, Gariet Pennington, Tyler Molone, Cameron Wamsley and Christian Purnell.

Tucker County(6-12) were schedule to start Sectional play on Monday May 6th against Paw Paw. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
