The Tucker County football team bounced back from last week’s loss in dominant fashion Friday night against Webster County. Tucker found the end zone twice in the first, third, and fourth quarters and scored three times in the second quarter. The Mt. Lions tallied 451 total yards of offense and held the Highlanders to just 99. Tucker was again balanced in their assault, with 207 yards through the air and 244 yards on the ground.
The game was never in doubt, as the Mt. Lions dominated from start to finish. Senior quarterback Sam Marks was efficient as always, going 14-for-16 for 207 yards and 1 touchdown. Multiple players contributed to the ground game: Cade Rapp had 9 carries for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns; Luke Barb had 4 carries for 38 yards and 2 touchdowns; Sam Marks had 4 carries for 18 yards and 1 touchdown; Sawyer Fansler had 3 carries for 28 yards and 1 touchdown; and Branson Hyre had 1 carry for 80 yards and 1 touchdown.
Senior Josh Crossland led the Tucker defense with 4 tackles, 5 assists, and 3 tackles for loss (TFLs).
The Mt. Lions will return home this week for a big-time homecoming matchup against the #5 ranked Pendleton County Wildcats. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
