PARSONS – Tucker County hosted Southern Garrett, MD last Friday October 12th on Senior Night. The Mt. Lions could not overcome a 14-7 halftime deficit and the Rams outscored Tucker County 21-7 in the second half to get the win over Tucker County 35-14.

Tucker County kicked off to Southern to start the game. The Rams wasted no time as they scored on a 70 yard touchdown run to take the lead 7-0 after a successful PAT kick. Tucker County failed to move the ball on their first possession and punted the ball back to Southern. The Rams also had their drive stall out and Tucker County got the ball back again. The Mt. Lions then went to work on offense from their own 20 yard line. Tucker County’s Liam Hood then connected with Ben Cromer on an 80 yard touchdown pass. The Ben Callaway extra point kick was good to make the score 7-7. The first quarter ended with the same score 7-7. In the second quarter Southern would strike again with a 22 yard touchdown run with 10:00 min left in the second to give the Rams the lead 14-7 after the PAT kick. After an exchange of punts by both teams Southern put together a drive late in the second. The Rams marched the ball down to the Tucker County 1 yard line, but the Mt. Lions held Southern out of the end zone before the half to make the halftime score 14-7 Southern.

The visitors then scored again before the third ended on a 32 yard rushing touchdown to make the score 28-7 Southern after three quarters. The Mt. Lions then drove the ball down deep in Southern territory, but another Rams interception ended the Tucker County drive.
