Shaffer awaits the pitch at the plate in Regional play.

The Tucker County Lady Mt. Lions 2025 softball season came to an end this past week as they dropped both games of a double header in Franklin on May 20th. Tucker took on Pendleton County in the regional championship and fell 9-1 in the first matchup. Tucker got up on the Wildcats early as Bella Louks would knock in Makena Evans for a run on an RBI ground out to short stop.

This gave Tucker a 1-0 lead after the top of the 1st. This would prove to be the lone run for TCHS and Pendleton would go on a 9-0 run to end the game with a final of 9-1. Tucker wouldn’t fair as well in the second game of the double header as the Mt. Lions managed just one hit and one base on balls against the Division 1 (Robert Morris) softball commit from Pendleton, Baylee Beachler.

Peyton Hicks would notch a single and Makenna Evans would reach base on balls. The final score was 13-0 in favor of the Wildcats and the two losses marks the end of the 2025 softball season for Tucker County High School; the final record settled in at two games under .500 at 11 wins and 13 losses.
