On a rainy evening in Parsons, the Mt. Lions would take on the Titans of Gilmer County in a homecoming match. Tucker would start the game off right with Josh Crossland blocking a punt on the Titans’ opening possession. The defensive effort was rewarded with a 3-yard touchdown run by Jared Reall. The point after was good making the score 8-0 in favor of the Mt. Lions. Tucker’s defense would again stand tall on their next possession, as Reall would take it in for the score, this time on a 3- yard pass from quarterback, Sam Marks. The Mt. Lions would again get on the board fast to start the second quarter on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Marks to receiver, Luke Barb. The two-point attempt was unsuccessful, and the score was 20 – 0 in favor of the Mt. Lions. Tucker’s defense would continue their shut out and give its offense another chance to score. Running back, Jared Reall, would exploit the opportunity, adding a 10-yard touchdown run, with the two-point attempt being successful, making the score 28 – 0 midway through the second quarter. The Mt. Lions would add more points before the half as Sam Marks connected with receiver, Garrett Wilfong, on a 36-yard touchdown reception. The point after was accomplished making the score 36 – 0 heading into the half. Tucker would start the third, the way they finished the second, with a 2-yard touchdown run by Reall, however, the two-point try was no good and the score was 42 – 0. Tucker would continue to keep the Titans out of the end zone and would find it themselves one final time on a 34-yard touchdown run by Reall. Neither team would find the goal line in the fourth making the final score 50 -0 in favor of the Tucker County Mt. Lions. Running back, Jared Reall, would finish the night with 15 carries, 173 yards, four rushing touchdowns, and one receiving. Quarterback, Sam Marks tallied 11 of 16 passing for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Garrett Wilfong ended the night with four catches for 69 yards and one touchdown. Tucker’s defense remains stellar as they have only allowed two scores through their four games, The Mt. Lions continue to stay unbeaten with a current 4-0 record. Tucker will travel to Webster County Friday to take on the ranked and unbeaten Highlanders. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
