The WV Sports Writers announced the Class “A” Softball and Baseball All-State members on Tuesday June 29th. Tucker County’s Sophomore Paige Shaffer made the Softball list as an Honorable Mention selection. Shaffer led the Lady Mt. Lions on the mound as she pitched over 49 innings and posted an ERA of 4.3 while collecting over 43 strikeouts on the season. Shaffer also had a batting average of .404 and she drove in 16 RBI’s on 19 hits for the season.
The Mt. Lions Baseball team placed one person on the All-State Baseball list. Sophomore Mason Kisamore was honored as an Honorable Mention selection. Kisamore led the Mt. Lions with over 60 strikeouts on the mound and Kisamore ended the regular season with a .489 batting average. Mason also had over 18 RBI’s on the season and stole over 21 bases for the year.
