The Tucker County girls’ high school basketball team returned to action in their summer league tournament in Keyser. The Mt. Lions first took on the Trojans of Hampshire County High.
The Trojans returned a large portion of a very competitive squad from their 2024 campaign, and Tucker was down returning leading scorer, Mayah Gross, who is out with a knee injury. Hampshire would squeak out the win over the Mt. Lions by 4 points 39-35 in their first meeting of the summer season. Tucker would then face the Fort Hill Red Storm out of Cumberland (MD).
Tucker would get out of the gates hot and keep the heat turned up on the Red Storm, taking a 20-point win 46-26. Tucker will continue in their summer tournament play as they take on Keyser High School on June 9th at 5pm and Pendleton County at 8pm.
