The Tucker Boys Basketball team wrapped up their regular season play last week with two games. The first matchup was at home versus the visiting Yellow Jackets of Moorefield High School. Tucker would start the game by holding the Yellow Jackets to just 5 points in the first period while pouring in 16 of their own. The Mt. Lions would put the hammer down in the second period dropping 25 points to push the lead out to 41-18. Tucker would continue to pour it on in the second half, outscoring Moorefield in each of the final two periods to take the win in dominant fashion.

Tucker would finish the week with a trip to Mill Creek to take on regional opponent, the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs. This was the second matchup of the season with the Bulldogs as Tucker took the win at home by a margin of 30 points earlier in the season. This matchup would prove to be similar in fashion as Tucker would prevail 80-47 over Tygarts Valley. Tucker has secured the #1 seed as the boys begin regional play; therefore, they will receive a “bye” in the first round of regional tournament play. The Mt. Lions await the winner of the Pendleton County vs. Union matchup who will then travel to Tucker County High School on March 12th. The winner of that contest will go on to Charleston to play in the state tournament.
