TUCKER COUNTY BASEBALL DROPS 3 GAMES IN BUSY WEEK

PARSONS – The Mt. Lions Baseball team hosted Tygarts Valley on Monday May 2nd.  The visitors got out to an early lead and never look back as they defeated Tucker County by the final score of 13-3.  The Mt. Lions struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Tygarts Valley, and Tucker County only managed to collect 3 hits in the game, while committing 9 defensive errors.  

Ethan Rosenau toed the rubber for Tucker County.  Rosenau lasted 1 inning, allowing 4 hits and 6 runs while walking 1.  Reece Poling and Justin Robeson entered the game as relief, throwing three and a third innings and two-thirds inning respectively. 

Mason Kisamore, Harper Russell, and Gavin Nestor each collected one hit to lead Tucker County.  

 

FRANKLIN – Tucker County traveled to Pendleton County on Tuesday May 3rd.  The Mt. Lions hung tough throughout the game and fell in a close contest.  Pendleton County would pull away late in a 2-1 victory over the Mt. Lions.  Pitching was strong on both teams with Wildcats pitchers striking out 9 and the Tucker County pitchers striking out 6.  In the top of the 4th inning, Tucker County tied things up 1-1 on a stolen base.  Justin Robeson started the game for Tucker County as he went 4 four innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out 4 and walking 0.  Ethan Rosenau came in and threw 2 innings of relief out of the bullpen for the Mt. Lions.  

Tucker County racked up 6 hits in the contest.  Blaike Adams went 2 for 3 on the day with drawing a walk.  Rosenau went 2 for 3 on the day, Mason Kisamore went 1 for 2 on the day drawing 2 base on balls, while Robeson went 1 for 4 on the day.  

 

BAKER – The Mt. Lions finished out the busy week with a road trip to East Hardy on Thursday May 5th.  East Hardy exploded for a 4 run 5th inning to put the Cougars ahead and out of reach for Tucker County.  East Hardy got the win by the final score of 7-0.  

Freshman, Reece Poling was on the mound for the Mt. Lions.  The righty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and striking out 1.  Harper Russel would enter from the bullpen working one and two thirds innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs while walking 4 and striking out 2.  Mason Kisamore would enter and work one and two thirds innings allowing 0 hits and 0 hits while striking out 2.  

Blaike Adams and Harper Russell would each collect 1 hit each to lead Tucker County at the plate.  The Mt. Lions would still collect 3 defensive errors in the contest.

  

Tucker County was scheduled to begin double elimination sectional play on Monday May 9th as they will travel to Pendleton County.  Sectional play will continue throughout the week.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
