PARSONS – The Mt. Lions Baseball team hosted Union on Monday April 6th in Parsons. A late rally in the 7th inning by Tucker County fell short and the Mt. Lions fell to the Tigers 5-4.
Zac Haddox both hit and pitched well for the Mt. Lions. Haddox was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings. Haddox was also good on the mound for the Mt. Lions. Haddox allowed four earned runs, three hits and seven walks while striking out 14 over seven innings of work.
Union went up for good in the third, scoring four runs on an error and a two-run single by Hunter Norris.
One run in the bottom of the 7th inning helped Tucker County close its deficit to 5-4. An RBI double by Justin Fike sparked the Mt. Lions rally. After the Fike double Tucker County had runners on 2nd and 3rd base. The Tigers then intentionally walked Haddox to avoid another hit. The bases were then loaded for the Mt.
