OAKLAND, MD – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams traveled to Oakland, MD for the Broadford Invitational which featured 8 teams on Tuesday September 19th.
Freshman Karlee Smith was the top finisher for the Lady Mt. Lions as she finished 17th place out 60 runners on a time of 25:37. Other finishers and times for the Tucker County Girls’ are as follows: 21st Natalie Evans(26:01), 27th Maya Paul(27:33), 33rd Zoe Nestor(28:44), 34th Mikala Betler(28:47), 37th Caitlin Fladung(29:41) and 47th Sarah Bates(31:06). The Lady Mt. Lions finished 5th overall with a team score of 130 points among the 7 Girls’ teams.
Sophomore Will White was the top runner for the Tucker County Boys’ team with a 17th place finish out of 90 total runners with a time of 19:28. Other finishers for the Mt. Lions were as follows: 20th Joseph Lewandowski(19:40), 25th Jack Melnick(20:01), 33rd Jonathan Rhodes(20:47), 37th Chris Chambers(21:07), 57th Connor Greenlief(22:47), 63rd Taylor Long(23:24), 75th Cameron Wamsley(25:08), 78th Davis Kines(25:30). The team finished 4th overall with 125 points as a team among 8 Boys’ teams. Both teams will return to action on September 30th at the Times Invitational in Fairmont at 11am.
