SNOWSHOE – The Mt. Lions Golf team traveled to The Raven at Snowshoe Resort on Tuesday October 1st to play in the Class “A” Region 2 Championship. Tucker County finished second behind Moorefield to qualify for the State Tournament Match.
Tucker County was able to shoot low as a team and the Mt. Lions came home with a team score of 278. Moorefield led the way as a team with a score of 267 to capture the Regional Championship. Notre Dame placed third as they scored a 285, Tygarts Valley got fourth with a 289, South Harrison came in fifth with a 304 and Pendleton County placed sixth with a 313.
Low Medalist in the match was a tie as Dakota McNemar of South Harrison and Andrew Holbrook of Tygarts Valley shot an 83 each. Tucker County golfers scored as follows: Holden Young 91, Nathan Dearborn 93, Harper Russell 94 and Myles Paugh 110.
Tucker County will now travel to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling to compete in the State Tournament on October 8th and 9th. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
