KEYSER – On Wednesday September 3rd the Mt. Lion Golf team traveled to Polish Pines in Keyser with host Keyser, Frankfort, and Mountain Ridge. Keyser won the match for Coach Steve Delaney with a 168. Mountain Ridge took second with a 178, Frankfort finished third with a score of 185, and Tucker County came in with a team score of 189. Scoring for the Mt. Lions were Eric McCrum 42, Seth Evans 44, Olivia Goff 50 and Wes Knotts 53.
OAKLAND, MD – On Thursday September 4th Tucker County played at the Oakland Country Club and came in second out of five teams. The host team Southern, MD won the match with all six players scoring in the 40’s. The Mt. Lion team has a score of 199 led by Seth Evans’ 44, Eric McCrum 46, Wes Knotts 54, Olivia Goff 55 and Carleigh Bolyard 66. Mountain Ridge placed third with a score of 200, Preston was fourth and Northern, MD was fifth in the match.
The Tucker County Golf team is now 6-11 for the season and will travel to Philip-Barbour on Thursday. Coach Sam Goughnour had this to say about his team’s improvement, “We are seeing some improvement and hope we will peak at the end of the season. We are looking forward to hosting the PVC championship at Canaan on the 22nd of September and encourage the public to come watch the event which will tee off at 10:00am”.
