MORGANTOWN – The Mt. Lions Golf team traveled to The Pines Country Club in Morgantown on Tuesday August 29th for a match hosted by Trinity Christian.
Tucker County came home with a third place finish scoring a 192 as a team. Coach Sam Goughnour said, “Tighter fairways and faster greens added to the kids frustration, but they carded lower scores than last year at the Pines.” Morgantown took home first with a 171 and Trinity scored 189 to take second place. Clay-Battelle competed also but did not have enough team members to score in the team rankings. Carleigh Bolyard once again led Tucker County with a s score of 42. Other Tucker County scores were as follows: Easton Snyder(49), Connor Nestor(50), Holden Young(51), Myles Paugh(51), Nathan Dearborn(52), John Anderson(59) and Wyatt Betler(62).
CANAAN VALLEY – Tucker County finished the week as they hosted Moorefield and Tygarts Valley at Canaan Valley Resort on Thursday August 31st. Tucker County’s Carleigh Bolyard was low medalist in the match with a score of 38 to lead the Mt. Lions to a team victory. Tucker County had a team score of 175, followed by Tygarts Valley at 187 and Moorefield with a 196. Other scores for Tucker County: Easton Snyder(44), Myles Paugh(46), Connor Nestor(47), Holden Young(48), John Anderson(56), Wyatt Betler(59) and Nathan Dearborn(67).
