CANAAN VALLEY – The Mt. Lions hosted the 18 hole PVC Championship at Canaan Valley Resort on Monday September 18th. Tucker County picked up the win and the PVC Championship with a team score of 367.
Carleigh Bolyard also captured the low medalist honor in the match with a score of 78. Other scores for Tucker County were as follows: Easton Snyder(86), Connor Nestor(97), Myles Paugh(106) and Holden Young(110). Moorefield(384) finished 2nd and Pendleton County(473) placed 3rd. Tucker County golfers that made All-PVC are Carleigh Bolyard, Easton Snyder and Connor Nestor. Tucker County Coach Sam Goughnour was named PVC D1A Coach of the Year.
MOOREFIELD – Tucker County traveled to Valley View Golf Course outside of Moorefield for a 4 team match on Wednesday September 20th. The Mt. Lions picked up the win with a season low team score of 171. Moorefield took 2nd place just behind Tucker County with a team score of 172, Petersburg scored a 176 to get 3rd and Pendleton County came home 4th with a 231. Tucker County scores were as follows: Carleigh Bolyard(39), Easton Snyder(41), Holden Young(45), Myles Paugh(46), Connor Nestor(47), John Anderson(52), Nathan Dearborn(55) and Wyatt Betler(59).
CANAAN VALLEY – The Mt. Lions hosted their last home match of the season on Thursday September 21st at Canaan Valley Resort. Tucker County picked up the win with a team score of 173. Petersburg(175) took home 2nd place and Tygarts Valley(190) finished in 3rd place. Easton Snyder led Tucker County with a score of 40. Other scores for the Tucker County team are as follows: Carleigh Bolyard(41), Connor Nestor(44), Holden Young(48), Myles Paugh(49), Nathan Dearborn(51), John Anderson(54) and Wyatt Betler(56).
Tucker County was scheduled to compete in the 18 hole Regional Championship at Grafton on September 25th. Coach Sam Goughnour had this after this busy week of play, “The kids have been playing some of their best golf this season, as we head into regional competition.” The top two teams from the Regional will move on to play in the State Golf Tournament in Wheeling on October 3rd and 4th.
