CANAAN VALLEY – The Mt. Lions Golf team opened the season at their home course of Canaan Valley Resort on Thursday August 11th. Tucker County took home the win over Moorefield, Tygarts Valley and Union. Tucker County’s Carleigh Bolyard was low medalist for the match with a score of 39. Conner Nestor and Corrick Ambrose followed with a 44 and 47 on the day. Easton Snyder finished with a 48 Nathan Dearborn had a 53 and Myles Paugh came in with a 56.
Tucker County took the match with a team score of 178. Moorefield took second place with a score of 202, Tygarts Valley got third with a 231 and Union also competed by only had two golfers. Head Coach Sam Goughnour had this to say about his team, “We are hoping the kids continue to improve a little bit at a time.”
