The West Virginia Sports Writers Association announced the Class “A” Football All-State team on Thursday December 7th. Tucker County placed three players on the first team. Quarterback Ethan Rosenau, receiver Maddox Anderson and linebacker/running back Jared Reall were first team selections for the Mt. Lions. Rosenau a senior ended the season with over 2,400 yards passing and 41 passing touchdowns for Tucker County. Anderson also a senior was a repeat first team selection as the receiver was a first team selections last season. Maddox had 15 touchdown catches this season while having over 700 yards receiving. Reall was selected to the first team defense as a utility selection. Jared led the Mt. Lions in tackles this season with over 70 solo tackles. Reall also led the team in rushing with over 1,300 yards.
Garrett Wilfong was a second team selection as Wilfong led Tucker County in receiving yards this season with over 800 yards. Wilfong also played well on defense with over 40 solo tackles on defense.
Owen Knotts and Gavin Mullenax were selected to the Honorable Mention list for Tucker County. Knotts and Mullenax were key members of the Mt. Lions offensive line. Then on defense Knotts led the team in tackles for loss with 14, while Owen collected over 30 solo tackles at the defensive end position. Mullenax was close behind on defense with 10 tackles for loss and over 25 solo tackles.
The Mt. Lions finished the regular season with a 10-0 record. Tucker County fell in the State Semi-Finals to eventual State Champion Williamstown and ended their season with a 12-1 record.
