
The Tucker County High School Cross Country teams turned in an impressive performance at the South Harrison Invitational on Saturday, with both the girls’ and boys’ squads earning hardware and individual accolades.
On the girls’ side, junior Estoria Chase led the charge, running a personal record time of 22:42 to earn 5th place overall. Not far behind was Addi Moats, who crossed the finish line in 8th place with a strong 23:58. Lilly Collar rounded out the scoring for Tucker, placing 26th with a time of 34:57, helping to solidify the team’s presence at the meet.
The boys’ team delivered an equally strong performance, finishing Second Place overall and beating out competitors including Heritage Christian, South Harrison, and Robert C. Byrd. Tucker finished just 23 points behind Lincoln High School.
Sophomore Lynk Suesli paced the team with a stellar 2nd place finish, clocking in at 17:46. He was closely followed by Cameron Judy, who claimed 3rd place with a personal best of 17:54. Alex Collar also cracked the top ten, finishing 10th in 19:06. Freshman Landon Wilfong impressed with a PR of 20:04, good for 15th place, while William Gilligan secured the team’s final scoring position in 21st place at 20:53.
Head Coach Mullenax was proud of his team’s performance, stating, “They have been putting in some hard practices and their hard work is paying off.”
The Mountain Lions will next compete at the Southern High School Invitational on Tuesday, September 9th at Broadford Park.
