The Tucker County High School cross country team kicked off its 2025 season on Saturday, August 23rd, at the Autumn Classic, hosted by St. Mary’s High School. With 27 schools and large fields in both races, the Mountain Lions made an impressive showing, bringing home three medals and several personal bests.

On the girls’ side, Addi Moats led the way, earning a season-best time of 22:57 and securing 26th place out of 123 runners. Her strong performance also earned her a medal to start the season on a high note.

The boys’ team put together a strong team effort, with two medalists and a string of personal records in a highly competitive field of 179 finishers.

Lynk Suesli posted a personal record time of 17:31, placing 21st overall and earning a medal for his performance. Not far behind, teammate Cameron Judy also ran a personal best of 17:57, good for 29th place and a second medal for the team.

Freshman Landon Wilfong made a solid debut, clocking in at 20:31 (PR) for 92nd place, while William Gilligan followed close behind, finishing 102nd with a time of 20:46. Rounding out the Mountain Lions’ effort was Draven Bunnell, who also achieved a personal record of 22:02, placing 131st.

The Mountain Lions will return to action on Saturday, August 30th, traveling to Buckhannon-Upshur High School for their next meet.
