Three squads met at Tucker County High School this past Saturday morning to compete in a stand-alone Holiday Cheer Competition, with Tucker hosting for the first time. Squads included Elkins Middle Hornets, Belington Middle Hawks, and Tucker Valley Wildcats.
The squads all performed a technical cheer which had to be at least 30 seconds long but no more than 40 seconds and include two jumps. The squads then showcased a 2:30 second routine consisting of dance, tumbling and stunting. Elkins received first place and Tucker Valley took runners up. Of Tucker Valley, Mia Lambert was recognized as an “All-Star Cheerleader”. The Tucker Valley Wildcats Cheer squad is coached by Dani Pennington and Marcy Hebb.
