FRANKLIN, WV – The Wildcat’s traveled to Pendleton County Middle on Thursday Sept 19th. Pendleton County dominated Tucker Valley on the night and came away with the 26-6 victory.
Tucker Valley received the opening kick, but had to punt the ball back to Pendleton after 3 plays. On the first play Pendleton County scored on an 88 yard touchdown run. The PAT failed to make the score 6-0 Pendleton. The next possession for Tucker Valley ended after 2 plays when a fumble was recovered by Pendleton at the Tucker Valley 48 yard line. Pendleton County only needed 3 plays this time and they scored on a 47 yard touchdown pass with 3:19 left in the first quarter. The PAT failed once again and the score went to 12-0 Pendleton County.
Tucker Valley then put together a great drive as they marched the ball down the field. However, on the 15th play of the drive Tucker Valley was unable to convert on a 4th down play and gave the ball back to the home team at the Pendleton 20 yard line. Pendleton County put together another drive that brought the ball down to the Tucker Valley 11 yard line where they were unable to convert on a 4th and goal play and turned the ball back over to visitors with 25 seconds left in the first half. Tucker Valley then ran out the clock to end the first half traveling Pendleton 12-0.
The Pendleton County Wildcat’s received the second half kick and took the ball down the field on a 10 play 61 yard drive capped by a 13 yard touchdown run with 2:45 left in the third quarter. The PAT was no good and Pendleton built their lead to 18-0. Tucker Valley would then get their offense moving on their next drive. Luke Poling finished the 6 play 61 yard drive on a 25 yard touchdown run with 7:50 left in the fourth quarter. The PAT failed to make the score 18-6 Pendleton. On the next Pendleton County possession they would put the game away with a 50 yard scoring drive capped by a 15 yard run for the score. The 2 point conversion was good to up the Pendleton lead to 26-6 with 6:18 left in the game. Tucker Valley put the reserve players into the game and the game ended with the final score Pendleton County 26 Tucker Valley 6. Luke Poling led Tucker Valley with 49 yards rushing on 5 carries and Corrick Ambrose was 2 for 2 passing with 33 yards with the reserve unit.
