DUNMORE – The Wildcats Middle School Football team traveled to Pocahontas County on Wednesday October 21st for their last game of the season. Tucker Valley jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they got the win by the final score of 46-6
Tucker Valley would score first on a 46 yard touchdown run by Marky Phillips with 4:26 left in the first quarter. Sam Marks then connected with Garrett Wilfong on a pass for the 2-point conversion to make the score 8-0 Tucker Valley early. Pocahontas County then responded with a touchdown and the PAT conversion was no good to put the score to 8-6 Tucker Valley. The Wildcats then got another score in first quarter on a Jared Reall 11 yard touchdown run. The 2 points conversion was good on a Wilfong run to push the Tucker Valley score to 16-6 after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter the visiting Wildcats got a score on a Phillips 20 yard touchdown run. Then Marks connected with Wilfong again on the 2 points conversion to make the score 24-6 Tucker Valley with 3:40 left in the second. The Wildcats then would score again with 47 seconds left in the first half on a 44 yard touchdown pass from Marks to Wilfong. The PAT conversion failed to give Tucker Valley the 30-6 lead. Tucker Valley then got the ball back and the offense went to work again. This time Marks connected with Reall on a 35 yard touchdown pass with 35 seconds left in the second quarter. The 2-point conversion was good by Wilfong to make the halftime score 38-6 Tucker Valley.
The Wildcats would add one more score in the third quarter on a 16 yard touchdown pass from Marks to Reall with 2:06 left in the third. The 2-point conversion was good on a pass from Marks to Wilfong to push the Tucker Valley lead to 46-6 after three quarters. The fourth quarter ended with neither team scoring to make the final score of the game Tucker Valley 46 Pocahontas County 6.
