Tucker Valley’s middle school boys basketball team wrapped up its season this past week with a game in Petersburg and one at home against Elkins. Tucker’s game with Petersburg was a back-and-forth dogfight, with Tucker holding a narrow 7-point lead after the first quarter and just a 2-point lead at halftime, 21-19.

The Vikings took the lead from the Wildcats in the third quarter as they built a 33-28 advantage. The fourth quarter provided fireworks as Tucker trailed by two with seconds to play. Titus Bowley penetrated the Vikings’ defense and found his teammate, Quinton Teter, open for a three-point shot. Teter nailed it, sealing the 43-42 victory for the Wildcats.

Bowley led Tucker in scoring with 20 points, followed by Teter with 17 points, while Wade Boyles finished with 4 points.

Tucker’s final game of the season was played at home on Thursday as they hosted Elkins Middle. Tucker held a 1-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 11-10, and a 27-26 lead at halftime. The Wildcats found themselves down to start the fourth quarter, trailing 42-37. Elkins went on a 19-12 run in the final period to defeat Tucker, 61-49.

Bowley again led the team in scoring with 24 points, followed by Teter with 16 points, while Legend Harper finished with 4 points.

The pair of games marked the end of the 2026 season for the Wildcats. They finished with a 9-7 record, with only two losses to single-A schools.
