The Tucker Valley Lady Wildcats tipped off their 2025 basketball season at home this week, hosting the Pendleton Wildcats in a competitive opening-night matchup that featured both JV and varsity action.
The JV Lady Wildcats battled through a tough defensive matchup but dropped 36–8 to a strong Pendleton squad. Tucker Valley managed to spread its scoring across four players, Boyles, Smith, Nestor and Williams all gave 2 points each.
In the varsity matchup, Tucker Valley stayed within striking distance throughout the game, keeping the pressure on Pendleton before ultimately falling 31–21.
The Lady Wildcats were led by performances from Owens and Wright, who each recorded 8 points, anchoring the team’s offensive efforts. Lambert added 3 points, while Evans chipped in 2, rounding out the scoring.
Tucker Valley’s defense held strong for much of the night, forcing turnovers and limiting transition opportunities, but Pendleton’s late-game surge proved to be the difference.
