MORGANTOWN – The Wildcats Middle School Football team traveled to Trinity on Wednesday October 7th. Tucker Valley jumped out to a first quarter lead of 24-0 and the Wildcats cruised from there to take the win by the final score of 46-13.
Tucker Valley got on the scoreboard first as they scored on a Jared Reall 5 yard touchdown run. The PAT was good on a Marky Phillips run to make the score 8-0 Tucker Valley with 6:14 left in the first. The Wildcats then scored again with 3:04 left in the first on a Sam Marks screen pass to Jared Reall from 14 yards out. The 2 point conversion was good with another Marky Phillips run to push the Tucker Valley lead to 16-0. Tucker Valley then scored once more in the first quarter as Sam Marks connected with Recce Poling for a 27 yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left in the first. Jared Reall ran in the 2 point conversion to make the score after one quarter 24-0 Tucker Valley.
The Wildcats offense did not slow down in the second quarter as they would score again on a Sam Marks 25 yard touchdown pass to Jared Reall. The PAT was good on a Marks to Garrett Wilfong pass to up the Tucker Valley lead to 32-0 with 6:37 left in the second. The Wildcats finished off another drive with a touchdown on a Marky Phillips 35 yard touchdown run. The PAT conversion failed to make the score 38-0 with 3:54 left in the third quarter. Tucker Valley got the ball back quickly and capitalized with another score. The Wildcats found the endzone with a Garrett Wilfong 11 yard touchdown run with 2:43 left in the first half. The 2 point conversion was good on a Marky Phillips run to make the score 46-0 Tucker Valley. Trinity got on the scoreboard in the second also to set the halftime score 46-7 Wildcats.
The homestanding Warriors would get on the scoreboard again in the third with a touchdown. The PAT failed to bring the score to 46-13 Tucker Valley. The rest of the third quarter neither team could finish drives and the score remained 46-13 Wildcats after three quarters of play.
The fourth quarter rolled by as Trinity and Tucker Valley failed to score in the final quarter to put the final score at 46-13 Tucker Valley.
