ROMNEY – The Tucker Valley Middle School Football team traveled to Romney last Wednesday September 19th. Romney jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as they cruised to a 44-8 victory over Tucker Valley.
Romney Middle would strike first as they scored a touchdown and converted the 2 point conversion. Tucker Valley could not sustain a drive and Romney got ball back and went to work again on offense. The home team would score again before the first quarter expired to make the score 16-0 Romney after one quarter of play. The second quarter provided lots of scoring as Tucker Valley scored a touchdown on a Trenton Wilfong quarterback sneak. However, Romney would extend their lead as they scored 3 more touchdowns in the second to make the halftime score 38-8.
In the third quarter Tucker Valley could not get their offense moving. Romney’s offense cooled off also as neither team put up points in the third and the score remained 38-8 Romney after three. The fourth quarter provided one touchdown from Romney and the game ended with the final score of 44-8 Romney.
