The Tucker Valley Wildcats varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams hit the court this past week in competitive matchups against Kasson and Philippi.

The varsity Wildcats faced a strong Kasson team, dropping two sets with final scores of 12-26 and 7-25. Despite the loss, Mia Lambert and Ally Wright led the scoring effort in the first set. Wright continued her offensive performance in the second set, again topping the stat sheet.

In a much closer battle against Philippi, the Wildcats showed grit and skill. The first set ended 22-25, with Mia Lambert and Marlee Evans leading the scoring. The second set remained competitive, finishing 19-25. Top scorers in that set were Marlee Evans and Ally Wright.

Marlee Evans and Laila George delivered several key spikes across both sets, while Ally Wright consistently set up plays and supported the offense. On the defensive end, Avery Decker and Maci Owens made multiple saves that kept the Wildcats in the game.

The JV Wildcats earned a well-deserved win over Kasson, taking both sets with scores of 25-16 and 25-23. Maci Owens, Mikinley Knotts, and Kennedy Aker led the scoring in the first set, while Kylea Shae Boyles emerged as the top scorer in the second.

Strong defensive efforts contributed to the win, with key saves in the first set by Maci Moore, Mya Adams, and Whitley Fowler. In the second set, Avery Decker and Kylea Shae Boyles anchored the defense with several crucial saves.
