The Tucker Valley boys’ team got their money’s worth of basketball this past week, competing in four games over five days.

The Wildcats got things rolling against the Petersburg Vikings. Tucker hung tough through the first half, trailing by just 8 points, but the game got away from them in the second half as they fell by a final of 51-35. Quinton Teter led the way with 19 points, Titus Bowley added 14, and Legend Harper chipped in 2.

The very next day, Tucker traveled to Buckhannon for a matchup with a much larger school. The Wildcats found themselves down just one point at the end of the first quarter, 7-6. Tucker stayed competitive, trailing 18-11 at the half and 22-19 going into the final frame. This is where Tucker would turn the wick up, outscoring their opponents 16-9 to take home a 35-31 win. Bowley collected 18 points, Teter had 10, and Fletcher Hyre finished with 5.

Tucker Valley hit the road two days later to visit Webster County. The Wildcats fell behind early, trailing 15-6 to start the game and 35-8 at the half. While the second half was much more competitive for the Wildcats, they ultimately fell 58-38. Teter led all scorers with 24 points, Harper put in 5, Rylan Sexton had 3, and Blake Holland added a bucket for 2 points.

To end the week, Tucker hosted Morgantown South, led by head coach and Tucker alumnus Jordan Moss. South grabbed an early 13-7 lead and a halftime advantage of 28-14. The Wildcats continued to play hard in the second half, but South proved to be too much, taking home a 54-37 victory. Bowley again led the Wildcats with 20 points, Wade Boyles poured in 8, and Teter collected 5.

Tucker Valley returns to action as they host Pendleton County on January 22nd for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
