PARSONS – The Tucker Valley Middle School football team hosted Elkins Middle last Wednesday September 28th. Tucker Valley led 6-0 after the first half, but Elkins scored 30 unanswered points to get the road win 30-6.
Great defense dominated the first half as neither team could sustain drives. Tucker Valley then began to build some momentum on offense late in the second quarter. Then with 5 seconds left in the second quarter Logan Husk scored on a touchdown run to make the score 6-0 Wildcats at the half.
Elkins came out in the third quarter and established themselves early. The Hornets scored early in the third to tie the game 6-6. A fumble by Tucker Valley gave the ball back to Elkins and they wasted no time capitalizing on the turnover. Elkins would score again with 4:56 left in the third and the PAT was good to push the Elkins lead to 14-6. The Hornets then kicked an onside kick and recovered it to give their hot offense the ball back. Then with 3:39 left in the third Elkins scored once again to make the score 22-6.
Elkins would add another score with 2:20 left in the fourth quarter to make the final score 30-6. Tucker Valley was led by Logan Husk with 65 yard rushing, Jeremy Liller had 45 yards rushing and Josh Callaway added 27 yards on the ground.
Tucker Valley will have a week off before their next contest as they will host Petersburg Middle on October 12th at 7pm. For more Tucker County Sports info visit TuckerCountySports.Com
