PARSONS – The Tucker Valley Middle Football team hosted Pendleton County on Wednesday September 16th. Tucker Valley jumped out to an early lead and got the victory by the final score of 38-14.
Tucker Valley got the ball to start the game and they went right to work on offense. Marky Phillips scored on a 56 yard touchdown run with 6:57 left in the first quarter. The PAT conversion was good as Sam Marks connected with a pass to Garrett Wilfong on the 2 point conversion to make the score 8-0 Tucker Valley. Tucker Valley added another score in the first quarter on a 15 yard touchdown run by Sam Marks. The PAT attempt was good as Marks completed a pass to Jared Reall for the 2 points to push the Tucker Valley lead to 16-0 with 3:07 left in the first quarter. In the second quarter Tucker Valley would add two more touchdowns. Marky Phillips scored on a 14 yard touchdown run with 5:21 left in the second and Phillips would score again with 42 seconds left in the second on a 1 yard touchdown run. This would give Tucker Valley the 30-0 halftime lead.
Pendleton County got on the scoreboard in the third quarter as they scored on a 19 yard touchdown pass play. The PAT was no good to make the score 30-6 Tucker Valley with 4:35 left in the third. The third quarter would end with the score remaining 30-6 Tucker Valley. Early in the fourth quarter Tucker Valley scored on a 53 yard touchdown run by Garrett Wilfong. The 2 point conversion was good on a Sam Marks run to make the score 38-6 Tucker Valley with 6:05 left in the fourth quarter. Pendleton County then added a score with 3:50 left in the game on an 86 yard touchdown pass. The PAT was good to make the final score of the game 38-14 Tucker Valley.
The Tucker Valley 8th Grade Cheerleaders and Football players were recognized at halftime. Those were as follows: Cheer; Kennide Helmick, Olivia Williams, Alicia Barb, Football; Marky Phillips, Blake Helmick, Garrett Wilfong, Jared Reall, Ryan Scott, Malachi Poe, Reece Poling, Gavin Nestor and water girl Annie Long.
