Hattie Jane’s
Our last featured home on the 1st annual Parsons Christmas House Tours is actually a business. Hattie Jane’s Old Thyme Primitives on 219 across from Dollar General, has been open since August
2015 and is a primitives collector’s dream! The store is owned by Brad Stevens, Houston Walton and Brad’s mom, Lisa Mauzy Wilfong. Lisa is the shopkeeper who always has a smile to greet her customers.
In the 1970’s the building was used as a Zenith TV shop owned by Gerald Poling, back when we used to get TV’s repaired! Later it was occupied by Benbush Business Services. The building is currently owned by Performance Chevrolet. The shop’s name comes from Brad’s Great Grandmother, Hattie Mauzy, who lived through the depression and knew the primitive lifestyle. “Jane” was from a dear friend, Jane Martin, who passed away suddenly. She was adored by all and loved primitives!
Normal business hours for Hattie Jane’s are Thursdays and Fridays 11-4 and Saturdays 10-2 and some Sundays. They are always willing to set up appointments at the customers’ convenience. If you are into primitives, this is the shop for you! Currently they are featuring tons of Christmas décor, specializing in hand made items.
