PARSONS – A Parsons Police officer’s promotion was announced during Tuesday’s Parsons City Council meeting. David E. Gidley II was promoted to Sergeant and he accepted the oath of office during the meeting.
Parsons Police Chief Bill Rowe said the department approved Gidley’s new role and said he was proud of Gidley.
Mayor Dorothy Judy said it was a privilege to have the honor of promoting Gidley to Sergeant before administering the Oath of Office.
Gidley received his promotion because of his hard work and dedication to the Parsons Police Department. Chief Rowe said Gidley is an asset to the force.
“He is an outstanding officer and does a great job for us,” Rowe said. “We wanted to reward his work and dedication with this promotion.”
Gidley is not new to law enforcement – he has served as a law enforcement officer for 22 years. He has been an officer with the Parsons Police Department since September 2014. He previously served as a Tucker County Deputy Sheriff and he currently works at the Elkins Police Department as well. He has served on the EPD for approximately five years.
Gidley and his wife Lynn and family reside in Horseshoe Run.
