Golden Ray “Crow” Nestor

GoldenNestorGolden Ray “Crow” Nestor, age 79 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life early Saturday morning, June 13, 2015 at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV. He had been in declining health since April.

He was born Wednesday, April 1, 1936 at Bull Run, WV a son of the late Staley Brown and Nellie Mae Tennant Nestor. On July 15, 1962 at Parsons, WV, he was married to the former Leila Viola Simmons, who survives.

Surviving are two sons, Phillip Lynn “Phil” Nestor and wife Brenda of Parsons, Dwayne “Paul” Nestor of Hambleton; four brothers, Franklin Gay Nestor and wife Bonnie of Fredrick, MD, Thomas Douglas Nestor and wife Laurana of South Lyon, MI, John Leon Nestor and wife Dottie of Hambleton and Michael Lynn Nestor and wife Vera of Parsons; one brother-in-law, Ernest Carr of Parsons; one sister-in-law, Lillian Mick of Philippi; and two grandchildren, Ashley Marie Nestor of Parsons and Aaron Phillip Nestor of Wuhan, China.

Preceding him in death is one sister, Mary Eleanor ”Jake” Carr.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1954. He was an employee of the former Dorman Mills until its closing. He was a former employee of North Central Community Action, where he worked as a Supervisor, the Hinchcliff Lumber Co., Ray Resources Drilling Co, and Shields Home & Travel Trailer Com of Fredrick, MD, from which he retired in 1998. He was a Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid WVU fan. He especially enjoyed his time with his dog, Squeek “Spunk”.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Larry Filler will officiate and interment will follow at the Nestor Cemetery at Bull Run, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Golden Ray “Crow” Nestor.
