DAVIS – Folks looking for a comfy place to stay while going easy on Mother Nature will appreciate the Billy Motel located at 1080 Williams Ave. in Davis. The 10-room motel has many upgrades, but strives to have a minimal impact on its surroundings.
The Billy Motel offers super king beds – very comfortable and spacious with down filled quilts. The entire property is non-smoking, and the motel is dog-friendly.
Each room is decorated with retro chairs and offers a 32 inch flat screen television and Wi-Fi. The rooms are heated and cooled with a separate heat pump – but on a cool evening, the comforters are warm enough for most folks.
The bedside tables are re-purposed crates, complete with bedside lights and a selection of books to read. Shelves in the rooms are made from slabs of wood and are large sized.
Instead of a fridge in each room, there are spacious soft-sided cooler, and ice packages are available from the lobby to keep cooler items chilled.
The lobby offers a spot to gather and plan hikes, bike trips, skiing trips or other adventures within beautiful Tucker County. There is a roaring fireplace in the fall and winter and lots of room to sit and enjoy.
Also in the lobby is complimentary coffee, tea or spring water. The motel also offers a bar.
The Billy Motel employee Edward Hodson said the renovations were designed to help keep the motel’s footprint minimal.
