PETERSBURG – The Tucker Valley Middle School Football team traveled to Petersburg Middle on Wednesday October 16th. The Wildcats started out strong a took home the PVL Conference victory by the final score of 22-14.
Tucker Valley got on the scoreboard first with a 10 yard touchdown run by Maddox Anderson on a sweep play. The 2 point conversion was good to make the score 8-0 Wildcats early on. The first quarter ended with the score the same Tucker Valley 8 Petersburg 0.
In the second quarter the Tucker Valley offense would strike again. This time Ethan Rosenau connected with Maddox Anderson on a 35 yard touchdown pass. The 2 point conversion was good again to push the Wildcats lead to 16-0. Then at the end of the second quarter Tucker Valley got into the endzone again. This time Maddox Anderson would throw a 60 yard touchdown pass to Racer Channell to make the halftime score 22-0.
The Vikings got on the board in the third quarter on a 5 yard touchdown run and the 2 point conversion was good to make the score 22-8 Tucker Valley. The third quarter then ended with the score the same 22-8 Tucker Valley. Petersburg then scored again in the fourth quarter, but the Vikings could not complete the comeback as Tucker Valley would win the game by the final score of 22-14.
The Tucker Valley defense played great the entire game as they forced 4 turnovers in the game. Maddox Anderson led Tucker Valley with 1 rushing touchdown, 1 receiving touchdown and 1 passing touchdown.
Tucker Valley(6-1) will host Tygarts Valley tonight Wednesday October 23rd with kickoff set for 6pm. The Wildcats will then host the PVL Championship game on October 30th, time is to be determined. For more info visit TuckerCountySports.Com.
