CHARLESTON – After a snow filled week that brought about 3 game being postponed for the Mt. Lions, Tucker County traveled to Charleston to face Charleston Catholic on Saturday February 13th. The visiting Mt. Lions could not get in the groove and fell for just the second time this season 70-53.

The home standing Irish came out strong to start the game as they held a 20-14 lead after one quarter of play. Tucker County responded late in the second quarter with a run to trim the Charleston Catholic lead to 36-32 at the half.

The Mt. Lions cut the lead to 2 points early in the third quarter, but then the Irish responded to push the lead to nine at the end of the third to lead the visitors 52-43. The fourth quarter was controlled by Charleston Catholic as they held Tucker County from making a run as the lead never dropped below 6 the rest of the game and the Irish picked up the big home win 70-53.

Seth Evans led Tucker County with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Ethan Crosten had 17 points, 4 assists and Skyler Humphrey collected 7 points, 9 rebounds for Tucker County in the win. Hydan McCarty led Charleston Catholic with 21 points. Tucker County JV lost the first game 60-48.
