Citizens Bank of WV Collecting Flood Relief Items

With floodwaters causing devastation in several areas of the state, a network of West Virginia banks is banding together to offer a helping hand.
Citizens Bank of West Virginia is accepting donations at all of their locations and will be transporting the items to communities who have lost so much due to the flood. Donations will be accepted from 9 am – 3 pm Monday through Thursday, and until 5 pm on Friday in their bank lobbies at Elkins, Parsons, Beverly, Snowshoe and Buckhannon.
Flood relief items currently in most urgent need of include: Non-perishable food items, especially peanut butter and coffee (Ready to Eat); Baby Diapers & Adult Diapers (All Sizes); Paper Towels/Toilet Paper; Baby Wipes; Garbage Bags; Cleaning Supplies (Bleach, Mops, Buckets, Sponges, Glass Cleaner, etc.); Rubber Gloves; Laundry Detergent; Blankets, Sheets & Pillows; and Bug Spray.
“We appeal to our friends to help our West Virginia neighbors who are struggling to piece back their lives, homes and businesses after the flooding,” said Kathy Leombruno, Senior Vice President & Marketing Officer. “Our drop-off locations offer a simple way to help people in real need of assistance. Many people lost everything and they really need our support.”
Cleanup operations for homeowners will continue for weeks and supplies will be needed throughout that process. “It takes a lot of gloves, garbage bags, bleach, and other supplies to remove the mud and debris from just one home,” continued Leombruno. “We will collect items through July 8 and then distribute them as directed where help is needed the most.”
