Frank Gilbert Ferguson, age 77 years, a resident of the Holly Meadows Community, Parsons, WV, departed this life late Saturday evening, August 20, 2016 at the Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, WV., surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Friday, December 30, 1938 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Howard Gilbert and Helen Parsons Ferguson. On April 21, 1962 at Parsons, WV, he was married to the former Sharon Bush Ferguson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Plum and husband Alan of Edinburg, VA and their children, Ciera and Sydney Plum, and Ankara “Katie” DiBacco and husband Joe of Holly Meadows and their children, Devanne, Carmon, Collin and Anna DiBacco; one sister, Amy Montgomery and husband R.C. of Henderson, NV.
Preceding him in death is one son, Frankie Gilbert Ferguson
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1956. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an employee of the former Parsons Tannery, he then became owner and operator of the Fergy’s Exxon of Parsons. He was a member of the Union I.U.O.E. Local 132, where he was a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Parsons, a member of the Pythagoras Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M. of Parsons, WV., and a member of the N.R.A. He enjoyed bowling, having played in several leagues, was an avid hunter and fisherman.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. J. Michael Lantz will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows, where the United States Air Force, the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion, the Tygart Valley Post #3647 Veterans of Foreign War and the Tucker County Veterans Association will conduct full military honors and the Pythagoras Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M will conduct Masonic Gravesite Rites.
