This is a photo of the Tannery Addition of Parsons.

In the middle of the picture is a body of water damned up. In the background is the homes of  the Tannery Row Addition. There are two rows of homes.  John Seiler and Mr. Mohn purchased the land between the railroad and the Black Fork River.  The land was divided into lots and streets.  As you can see, the homes were all built alike. In the picture, it must have been laundry day as there is laundry hanging out at each home.  This is a good example of the growth of industrialized Parsons. After the flood of 1954, the flood greatly damaged the Tanner so badly that it only employed a little over 80 people before it closed. Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
