Ronnie J. Jones

Ronnie J. Jones, 58, a resident of Hambleton, departed this life, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown due to complications to remove blood clots from his lungs. At his side was his loving wife and daughter.

Ronnie was born Tuesday, April 22, 1958 in Oakland, Maryland, a son of Virginia May Cummings Jones and the late Collas Jones. On September 3, 1989, he married Catherine L. Gribble who survives. They shared 27 years of wedded bliss.

Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory is his son Daniel James and wife Cierra, daughter Kerstin and grandchildren Ian, Ryan and Lillian. Also surviving are his sisters Elizabeth Johnson of Pennsylvania, Donna Bissit and husband John of Florida, JoAnn Frazee and husband Richard of Maryland, Joan Nice of Maryland and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his father was his sister, Betty Smith, his father-in-law, John Gribble, and his loving brother-in-law, Pat Gribble.

He grew up in the Stemple Ridge area of Preston County and graduated from Aurora High School in 1976. After high school, he helped his father in the family business hauling milk, as well as with Bernard Wilt.

He also worked at the Mt. Storm Power Station during power outages and as an EMT driver for Tucker County EMS. In 1979, he began work for Kingsford Manufacturing Plant in Parsons where he worked for 39 years until the time of his death.

Ronnie loved farming, bear hunting with his friends, and his best dog, Mully. He also enjoyed being a ham radio operator. Ronnie also loved spending time with his family and friends and considered his co-workers part of his family. Ronnie was a hardworking and devoted husband, father and friend.

Visitation was held at Hostetler Funeral Home in Parsons on Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. Rev Michael Lantz officiatde and interment followed in Parsons City Cemetery. The Hostetler Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Ronnie J. Jones. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
